Children are subjected to major challenges during development:
One adjustment in a child is worth 50 in an adult. It is important to correct asymmetry as soon as possible. During infancy, there are optimal times at which basic skills should be learned. If a skill is not acquired correctly or is acquired poorly, it can interfere with cognitive and motor development later on. Often, with children, pain is not an associated symptom.Spinal or cranial joints are not moving properly they are not able to send a clear communication to the brain via the nervous system. The nervous system relies on this constant flow of communication from the joints (called proprioception) and muscles to function and develop optimally. The spinal asymmetry created by these dysfunctions can often have long-reaching effects and manifest in different ways. How well their bodies function will ultimately define their bodies are built. Our goals as chiropractors are to maximize that potential.Treatment involves very gentle spinal/manipulative techniques tailored to the age of the baby to help relax stiff joints and stimulate the nervous and immune system.

Kate is a passionate chiropractor, and Mom to three busy, beautiful children. During her time as a chiropractor, she has maintained her love of treating athletes, and also developed a keen professional and person interest in paediatric chiropractic. Kate’s passion for pre- and postnatal as well as paediatric care was ignited by her own pregnancy and motherhood journey, and helping her babies grow, thrive and reach their milestones.
She loves helping babies feel more comfortable in their own skin, feel less pain and discomfort and grow into awesome, well adjusted, little humans. She is also highly motivated to help Moms enjoy every stage of their journey. Kate particularly enjoys the challenge of winning the trust of busy toddlers and children, and encouraging them to participate in managing their own health. She has a special interest in special needs children and cerebral palsy as a result of her family experiences, and believes that working as part of a multidisciplinary team can achieve the best results.
Ivanna is a chiropractor with a special interest in paediatrics and is currently studying to become a lactation consultant. Her approach involves focusing on the connection between the health of both mother and baby, and treating both together. Ivanna has always felt drawn to helping others, and her interest in chiropractic care was inspired by an early interest in the body’s role in healing itself. Her initial focus on sports medicine has since evolved into concentrating on maternal and child health. Ivanna has significant experience in volunteering and community outreach work, and this has strengthened her belief in the positive benefits of chiropractic treatments. Her commitment to helping others has also seen her become actively involved in organizing events and projects aimed at supporting sick and underprivileged children. Ivanna undertook shadow work at ChiroKids before joining our team on a full-time basis, and she can now put her expertise in lactation management, breastfeeding counselling, and maternal-infant nutrition to excellent use, alongside her chiropractic skills. She believes that chiropractic care plays a crucial role in the overall wellbeing of both mothers and their babies, and that through holistic care, she can promote their health and happiness.
